Uritorco mountain is located in the Punilla Valley, near the town of Capilla del Monte.
Its name in the Quechua language means “Male Hill”, a clear allusion to its striking geographical presence. It is the highest hill in the Sierras Chicas, with a height of 1980m.
Its ascent takes place in the middle of a generous and varied vegetation, between slopes and small lakes.
Some people go there for the challenge of reaching the summit, and others for the mysteries that surround it; in any case, Uritorco is an emblematic hill of the province.

This climb is intended for people in good physical condition who wish to experience night trekking without any difficulty other than the physical one.

End: Capilla del Monte Bus Station, 11hs.
Difficulty: Moderate. Trekking on trails, difficulty due to distance and unevenness.
Distance / Unevenness: 10kms / 700mts accumulated.
Requirements: Medical certificate with stress ergometry | Physical preparation and will | No previous experience required.
Required equipment: 20-liter backpack, trekking poles, headlamp, mountain footwear without smooth soles, etc. The complete list is provided when reserving a place for the activity.

We will meet at the Capilla del Monte bus station. From there we will travel to the base of Uritorco mountain. We will begin our night ascent between talks, stories and legends. It will take us about 5 hours to reach its highest point. We will wait for the sunrise with a hot coffee and something delicious to accompany it, a well-deserved reward for the effort!
From its summit you have an incomparable view of Capilla del Monte, El Cajón dam and, if the weather permits, Córdoba's salt flats .
We will be at the summit between half an hour and an hour depending on the weather conditions to begin the descent to the base and return to Capilla del Monte, ending the activity.
