The Nevado Ishinca (5530mts) is located in the Chinchey massif in the Cordillera Blanca. At the end of the ravine that bears its name, Ishinca rises between the majestic mountains of Ranrapalca and Palcaraju. Despite its colossal neighbors, it does not skimp on beauty and challenge.
This snowy peak stands out as a classic option to acclimatize or begin more difficult mountain activities, allowing you to reach significant heights in a short time through relatively simple routes. Unlike its neighbor Urus (5450m), Ishinca offers an extensive and beautiful route along a glacier with few crevasses and penitents.
From its summit, an impressive view of the snow-capped mountains of Tocllaraju, Palcaraju and Ranrapalca unfolds. This ascent sets the stage for greater challenges, marking a significant milestone in the exploration of the majestic Cordillera Blanca.

Itinerary Itinerary

The Cordillera Blanca is the place par excellence to learn and progress technically as a mountaineer.
We will meet in the city of Huaraz where we will take advantage of the first days of adaptation since it is located at 3200 meters. The first day we will have a briefing and time to visit the market and walk around the city. The next day we will travel to Yungay, where Campo Santo is located, from where we will have an impressive panorama of the highest mountain in Peru: Nevado Huascarán, 6768 meters. From the third to the sixth day we will move to the Ishinca River (4350m) where we will be based for the following days. From there we will ascend to Nevado Urus (5450mts) and Nevado Ishinca (5530mts).
From both summits we can enjoy a splendid view of the colossal mountains that surround them: Ranrapalca, Palcaraju, Tocllaraju, Pucaranra, Chinchey, etc. In each of them we will have time to rest, hydrate and take photographs. On the last day we will prepare our backpacks to return to the city of Huaraz and finish the expedition.
