Every year, thousands of people come to the mountains in search of reaching the roof of Córdoba. It represents a challenge for travelers who are introducing themselves to mountaineering or simply for those who want to live the experience for the only time.
"Champa" with its 2790 masl is the highest summit in Córdoba. The ascent from the town of Los Molles allows access via the Hueco route, whose name refers to a Tabaquillos forest in the middle of the slope, with species that are more than 400 years old. Getting to the top is through an extremely steep path, which some call the “Hidden Face of Champaqui.” The demand is rewarded with one of the best landscapes in the Sierras.
The two-day itinerary is demanding but equally possible for those people with good physical preparation and a need for self-improvement.

After meeting in Los Molles, we will begin to walk along the path towards the Tabaquillos forest where we will have lunch and continue our trip to the summit of Champaquí mountain. On this journey we will concentrate on slowly ascending the steep slopes while the landscape will become increasingly beautiful. If good weather permits, upon reaching the summit we will be able to enjoy the landscape of the Traslasierra and Calamuchita valleys. Afterwards we will begin the descent towards the Marcos Domínguez hut.
On the second day after a delicious homemade breakfast, we will begin the trekking towards the ridge to begin the descent to Los Molles. During this descent, we will once again enjoy the landscape of the valleys and hills of Traslasierra, and we will also be able to observe the Tabaquillos forest from above.
