We leave very early from Cusco passing through the communities of Izcuchaca and Limatambo on the way. After three hours of travel we arrived at Mollepata, next to Markocasa, here we began the long and slow walk to the area known as Silca, we had lunch and took a brief rest. Then, we continue walking through a beautiful green landscape to Soraypampa where we will spend the first night.

After a good breakfast we begin a day full of adventures. We will cross the plains of Salkantay to reach the highest point of the trip: The Salkantay and Umantay pass, at more than 4650 meters of altitude. From above we can appreciate the majesty of the area: the Salkanta mountain and its glaciers. After lunch, we continue towards Huayrac where we will have fantastic views until we reach the second camp in Challway.
Maximum altitude: 4650 meters | Minimum altitude: 3700 meters | Altitude 11 km | Time: 7 hours.
During the trek from the town of Challway to lunch in La Playa is when we will notice the change from mountains to jungle. The streams that run between the subalpine plains give way to waterfalls and rushing streams, we will cross the river several times using fortune bridges. It will take us 4 hours to get to La Playa for lunch.
We continue by private vehicle to the hydroelectric plant (we will ascend 913 meters in 1 hour).
After this transfer, the trekking to Aguas Calientes is along the train tracks. Almost the entire route has shade from jungle trees and flowers, the slope is very gradual. Upon arriving in Aguas Calientes we will stay in a hotel where we can recharge our batteries.
Overnight in Hotel | Group dinner at a local restaurant.
Very early after breakfast at the hostel we took the bus to the impressive citadel Inca of Machupicchu. We visited the squares, the sacred springs, the towers, the agricultural sectors and urban. After the visit you can buy your bus ticket to return to the hostel to pick up our belongings before taking the train back to Ollanta.
From Ollanta we will have transfer by private vehicle to return to Cusco.
