Incahuasi volcano, the third highest Inca shrine in the world.

The valley of six thousand in Catamarca is the place where there is the largest population of mountains of more than 6000 and 6500 meters high.
Incahuasi comes from the Quechua, "Inka wasi" and translates as "House of the Inca", it is a stratovolcano on the Argentine-Chilean border. This high mountain expedition will take you to know one of the sacred mountains, the third highest Inca shrine in the world after the Llullaillaco volcano and Cerro Mercedario.
From its summit we will have an impressive view of its crater and the highest volcano and second summit in America: Ojos del Salado (6893m).

Itinerary Itinerary

9:00 AM: Meeting in Fiambalá.
9:30 AM: 4x4 transfer to Hostería Cortaderas.
2:00 PM: Trekking at Cerro Cortaderas.

Services: Shared rooms (with the group), beds with linens, and private bathroom | Meals: Box-lunch | Afternoon snack.

9:00 AM: 4x4 tour to Balcón del Pissis. Acclimatization day.
Services: Inn | Breakfast | Box-lunch | Dinner.

A day off to rest and prepare for the next challenge.

Accommodation: High-altitude tents or mountain refuge | Meals: Breakfast | Lunch | Dinner.

9:00 AM: Breaking camp and returning to Fiambalá.

Services: 4x4 transfer. Shared cabin with the group. Meals: breakfast, lunch, dinner.

Travel from Fiambalá. Transfer to base camp; setting up camp. Carrying gear and water to Camp 1.

Services: High-altitude tents. Meals: Breakfast, packed lunch, dinner.

Ascent to Camp 1. Setting up camp.
Activity: 4 hrs | Ascent: 500 m | Distance: 6 km.
Services: High-altitude tents | Meals: Breakfast, Box-lunch, Dinner.

Gear carry to Camp 2. Return to Camp 1.
Activity: 5 hrs | Ascent: 650 m | Distance: 4 km.

Trek to Camp 2 and camp setup. Overnight stay at C2.

3:00 AM: Start of summit ascent. Return to Camp 2.

Return to the vehicle, trip to Fiambalá. End of the expedition.

An incredible first experience. Cerro del Plata, 5,968 meters above sea level; a seven-day journey to the summit—and that was only half the trip. A huge learning experience and a major challenge for both body and mind.
